PE 401/801

Thia week we have been playing Ringette which will come to an end on Friday. Next week is exams, make sure you study hard! Following exams we will begin our basketball unit.

PE 401/801

Another succesful semester of the Laughlin Winter Olympics has concluded. I hope all students enjoy their March Break and look forward to Ringette, Basketball, Low Organized Games, Volleyball, Football in the coming months.

PE 401/801

Wednesday and Friday of next week, both 401/801 phys ed classes will be going to the rink to play broomball. Students are required to pay $4.00 for the ice time and bring a hockey helmet and gloves for safety reasons.

Next week we will begin with Badminton. if any student would like to bring their own racquet feel free to.

Reminder to students to have lesson planned and ready to go prior to presentation. If you are not able to present the day you are scheduled for, it is your responsibilty to switch with a peer. You must let me know if this has happened.

Final project is due Friday the 23rd!

Leadership 621

We began our Anatomy unit today as the students were given two handouts; skeletal and muscular sytems. Students were given class time to find and identify specific muscles and bones. Students were asked to hand in their completed skeletal system hand out. The muscular system handout is due Friday.

Reminder – Peer Teaching Assignments will begin next week. Calendar is on the site to reference.

Article Review is due, must be passed in asap!

Response questions to Hoosiers
#1. In today’s day & age, small communities can still have an influence on how a coach decides to coach his team. Do you feel this is fair? Why or why not?

#2. Coach Norman Dale was given a lifetime ban from coaching college basketball for physically assaulting a player. 10 years later he is coaching high school basketball in Hickory. If you had this information, would you present it to the community during the town meeting? Keep in mind, all the great work he has done for the team. Why or Why not?

#3. Do you feel the coach made the right decision taking Shooter on as an assistant coach while his son was part of the team? Why or why not?

#4. Coaches can use many different tactics to send messages to their players. Give me two examples where coach Norman Dale does this.
